Day 61 : Recovery so far

Well I guess I keep forgetting to make a video.  The Bells Palsy is definitely at the back of my mind now.  I rarely think about it.  I don't need to tape my eye to sleep, I can eat and drink normally, my speech is back to normal, my eye doesn't seem to water or sting anymore .... well if it does its only a bit and not very often.  I can whistle!, I can fill my cheeks with air.  For the most part I am recovered.  It is noticeable that my mouth is not exactly even or symetrical during expressive faces, and the muscles in my face feel really sluggish by the end of each day, especially if I'm really tired.  I am glad I filmed a new video, it's been nearly a month since I filmed the last.  The differences between the last video and this are immense.  My mouth looks closer to normal, my eyebrow raises further and arches more etc etc.  It made me feel a lot better.  As it turned out, I wasn't one of the ones that got better in a couple of weeks ... it looks like I'm not going to make the three month deadline, but I'm fine with it.  When I had Bells Palsy initially and especially after one week when the condition degraded, there was a small part of me that worried I would be like that for life.  I remember thinking ... "so long as my speech returns to normal I don't care about the rest", and  ... "If I can just get to sleep at night without taping up my eye, it doesn't matter about the rest".  I wish back then I could have seen myself now, and all that worry could have gone away.  I have watched many peoples videos online, and it does seem like almost everyone recovers eventually.  Even the people that say "I never got better" are normally people that are still recovering, or have recovered 80% movement or so back.  The worst case I have seen is FitGirl15's vidoes (search on youtube) her initial onset is so severe it completely reshapes her face.  She recently posted a 2.5 year update, and although not back to normal, she looks so much better.  I guess even after 2 years things can still improve.  If there is anyone out there that "has not recovered" or "never got better", please post a vid or email me.  I am genuinely interested in finding out more.  It massively sucks when the Doctors tell you .... there is a small chance you may never get better.  It's a big blow to take when you have only just found out what your condition is.  Anyway.  Here is my recovery video to date, enjoy.

Also ... I would like to share a video by Cait. It was her video that made me think of filming my recovery in the first place, and her video gave me a lot more confidence in recovery. I heard from her recently too, which was nice.

  2. OMG, Craig I just found out why I haven't heard from you for such a long time (I've been a bit off the radar).
Started reading from day -4 and still reading with open mouth.
Our thoughts are with you and your family and it's good to see you recovering.

  3. Hello,

Exactly 2 months after Bell's Palsy onset here... thanks for your videos, they give me an idea of how slow I can expect recovery to be... SLOW (with CAPS). I am also pregnant and due on the 20th of July, that means that I cannot take steroids... just Vit B and acupuncture.. and rest as much as I can.

    Thanks
    A

  5. i was diagnosed with Bell's Palsy few days ago after seeing the specialist. she ruled out stroke and confirmed that it is Bell's palsy. when she told me that, I stopped worrying. I remind myself to be thankful for what I have in my life. Of course, I take medicine as prescribed, supplements and doing facial exercise at the same time. now i can wait to be back to normal again. I stay positive, watching these videos on youtube. thank you so much.

  9. Hi
I saw your video about the Bells Palsy on youtube (link below). Thanks a lot for capturing your prognosis and sharing that along with additional information.

One of my family member is going through it so wanted to ask you more about the acupuncture treatment you received.

    - Have you taken any Acupuncture sessions and How many sessions of acupuncture you had and was it daily initially and then gradually slowed down.

    - if you are ok, how much they charged you / session or as whole for the treatment

    - Also have you had similar attack (bells Palsy) again or kind of similar pain (just wanted to check what's chance of recurrence)

    - Are you following any diet / daily routine and Dos and Don'ts as preventive measure.

Thanks a lot in advance as well as thanks a lot for your help to the community.

  10. Castor oil is extremely helpful in the Bell’s Palsy Natural Treatment. It lessens swelling and recuperates the harmed nerve. It fortifies the facial muscles and builds their flexibility. Warm some castor oil in a skillet. Drench a meager cotton fabric into the oil and apply it to the face. Spread the pack with wool to trap the warmth.

  11. I recently have some difficult conversations and I did what a lot of people do when they want to know how to do something. I googled it. I came across Dr Williams herbal medicine on blog-site so many people with Bell palsy and dystonia thanking him about his good work. I also have dystonia. I wasn’t running all over God’s creation with every man I could find but here I am. I have felt bad about myself for so many years now because of my dystonia status. I obviously still have some self-accepting to do but I want to thank Dr Williams for everything he have done for me,after taking Dr Williams medicine i was completely free from cervical dystonia within one month of usage, I think what you are doing is so admirable. you have helped me a lot! I want to definitely reach out to you and thank you for your amazing work. You are a good person, and an extremely talented man. You have helped millions with your herbs, and have really inspired me,and i pray you still continue doing the good work.you can also email him on drwilliams098675@gmail.com for help
